Are you Irish today?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I’m wishing for green today! Out here in Iowa, green grass would be nice :), and actually it is a very nice day after all those cold winter days….and I really am Irish (50% anyway). My mother was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland and I still have many cousins, aunts and uncles there. We correspond often, but mostly by email. It is my life’s dream to go visit, but hasn’t happened yet.

If you’re making a friend a St. Patrick’s Day card today, here are a few beautiful Irish blessing that you might want to add as a message, now or for any time they need a pick-me up:

Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

*****************
May your day be touched
by a bit of Irish luck,
brightened by a song in your heart,
and warmed by the smiles
of the people you love.
******************
Wishing you always…
Walls for the wind,
A roof for the rain
And tea beside the fire.
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all that your heart may desire.

******************
and I have to throw in a little irish humor too 🙂

May the frost never afflict your spuds.
May the leaves of your cabbage always be free from worms.
May the crows never pick your haystack.
If you inherit a donkey, may she be in foal.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
